Hacking viruses are malware that can control the computer remotely, steal personal data and much more. They are transmitted via email, peer-topeer networks, and websites that offer downloads of content. You can avoid the risk of being hacked by updating your software, avoiding downloading from questionable sources, and staying away from vulnerable networks.
Hacking viruses are employed by cybercriminals for many reasons. They might seek to infect computers with keystroke loggers which record every word a user type, giving the perpetrator everything they need to steal their identity and gain access to bank accounts, credit card numbers and other important data. They may also utilize the compromised device as a part of a botnet, which is a network that can be used to send out spam emails or to launch attacks against other devices.
